9K a year 3 days ago 3 days ago 3 days ago Athletic/Sports Director - Chartwell Happy Day Camp Chartwell Happy Day Camp is seeking to hire an enthusiastic, organized, team player for the seasonal part time position of Athletic Director.
Under the program director's supervision, the Athletic Director will assume full responsibility for developing and implementing the athletic activities during the summer, ensuring they are carried out safely and organized.
This position requires the development and implementation of an age-appropriate curriculum for instruction of all aspects of sports programming.
They are responsible for equipment maintenance and activity supervision.
Chartwell Happy Day Camp staff are hired for our summer program duration.
The time commitment is June 24th - August 30, 2024 and will require some pre-season planning in April-June.
This position involves responsibility, patience, and creativity.
Campers look to this position as a role model and teacher.
Part time roughly 20-25 hours.
Schedule Mon-Fri, tentatively 9-2 approx.

Responsibilities include:
Equipment Recommending equipment and supply needs to supervisor in the spring.
Conducting an initial and end of season inventory of equipment.
Requisitioning equipment and supplies as the need arise during the camp season Ensuring clean, orderly, and safe activity areas by developing, explaining, and enforcing instructions for all staff on the use of sports supplies at Camp Setting up activities before they take place and cleaning up upon completion.
Facilitating the distribution and collection of all sports equipment and supplies used for camp programs.
Notifying supervisor of lost or damaged equipment immediately.
Evaluating current season and make recommendations for equipment, supplies, and program for next season.
Program Creating program outlines that include time for instruction as well as play/full games for campers with a wide range of ability levels and ages Training staff about the procedures to be followed in Sports areas during Staff Orientation Ensuring that safety skills are taught, learned, and practiced in every necessary activity Ensuring that all athletic activities involve skill progression and challenges for each camper Instructing and coaching campers in various sports Supervising and giving appropriate direction to staff during ongoing observing of all athletic activities Assisting staff with problems and questions and supporting their needs Reporting injuries or behavioral issues to appropriate staff member.
On extremely hot days, ensuring that all athletic activities have access to an appropriate water source.
Other Duties - working with staff to ensure all pre-and post-camp set-up, work projects, clean-up, and takedowns for assigned areas and all of camp is complete.
Meeting regularly with the supervisor.
Taking on any additional responsibilities, tasks, or assignments as deemed necessary by Camp Director.
Qualifications.
The ideal candidate is/has Phys Ed certified (requirement) A high school graduate or over 18 years of age.
The ability to work with, and communicate with, relate to children of all ages.
Committing to being a positive role model for children.
Strong enthusiasm for and broad knowledge of sports.
Experience teaching or coaching others, preferably youth, in athletic skill-building.
Strong organizational, communication and teamwork skills.
The ability to accept guidance and support and ask for help.
Comfortable working with other staff who have different work styles.
Comfortable working with children who have different learning styles An enthusiastic nature and the ability to adapt.
