We are currently seeking a Appraiser Review Senior to join our team in Marlton, NJ.
The Senior Review Appraiser is a subject matter expert (SME) with increased independent decision making capacity, forensic appraisal review and analysis expertise. Ensures quality control of all appraisal reports, escalations, complex reports, and alignment to all regulatory and GSE guidelines. Conducts pre and post QC forensic reviews. Establishes Quality Level for Supplier Management Department and determines applicable levels for appraiser panel. The Senior Review Appraiser may act as a team lead in Supervisors absence.
Job Duties:
- QC forensic review and analysis of appraisal reports and makes determination to approve, reject or amend based on analysis. Review and analysis of complex properties, as well as higher level white glove reviews as defined by client SLAs to customer.
- Increased responsibility for independent decisions of business significance to investors regarding the collateral risk of the property for purposes of lending and provides professional guidance for panel appraisers in a vendor support capacity.
- Provides Supplier Management Team with Quality Ratings for Appraiser Panel and updates accordingly aligned to regulatory guidelines.
- Creates detailed narrative reports for use by Companys clients in defense of valuation repurchase demands. Experience in defending appraisals before GSEs and/or with investors present.
- Act as team lead in absence of Supervisor (but will not have direct reports or performance management duties).
Experience:
- Typically has 10+ years of related experience
- Minimum 5 years experience as active Field Appraiser or equivalent business experience in an appraisal capacity.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as Review Appraiser, Appraisal Underwriter, Quality Control Reviewer, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- National review experience preferred.
Independence:
- Critical decision to lenders based on QC review of appraisal reports
- Decisions made by the Review Appraiser have a significant impact on the Companys risk profile, which further
impact the companys expenses related to claims, as well as overall profitability
- Defends appraisal value in a loan sale setting with investors
- Establishes Quality Level for Supplier Management Department and determines applicable levels for appraiser panel.
- Defends appraisal value in a loan sale setting with investors.
Supervision:
- No direct reports. May act as team lead in absence of Supervisor, but will not have direct reports or performance management duties.
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED required, BA/BS preferred
- Minimum license level: Certified Residential Appraiser
Knowledge and Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of USPAP and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Guidelines or lender specific guidelines.
- Communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong understanding of valuation services and products provided by the company.
- Exposure to activities and standard operating procedures of the Operations team.
- Strong attention to detail and proven ability to maintain focus when faced with conflicting priorities/demands.
- Knowledge of various client programs, including expectations set forth in client contracts, SLAs, etc.
- Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Windows, as well as internal valuation tools/applications.
- Detail oriented, with ability and willingness to meet required turn-around times while still maintaining a solid focus on quality.
- Subject matter expert for less experienced team members. Experience dealing with escalated issues.
- Experience in creating and disseminating reports to external and internal parties for the purpose of influencing outcome.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
