The Assistant Manager is responsible for the following:
Direct, coordinate, and evaluate employees when the Manager is absent.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities according to the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Interview, hire, and train employees.
Plan, assign, and direct work.
Reward and discipline employees.
Address complaints and resolve problems.
Motivate employees regarding customer service.
Ensure stylists/barbers use proper techniques.
Ensure that employees follow policies and procedures.
Assistant Manager's Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist the Manager to ensure duties and responsibilities delegated to stylists are carried out correctly.
Ensure employees understand and follow the policies and procedures in the employee handbook.
Follow approved Roosters techniques at all times.
Evaluate training needs, and support and motivate the staff during training.
Educate employees about products.
Work with the franchisee to ensure employees receive proper training.
Help employees present the positive image of a Roosters employee by establishing excellent relations and ensuring exceptional customer service.
Assist with recruiting, hiring, and training stylists/ barbers.
Learn and practice the financial aspects of the business.
Assist with maintaining inventory and ordering supplies.
Continue to hone hair care technical skills while delighting clients.
Manage the salon in the Salon Manager's absenceEnsure proper scheduling by using Roosters scheduling forms effectively.
Conduct legal and effective interviews to hire quality employees.
Deal with shop emergencies.
Document employee injuries appropriately.
Delegate responsibilities to employees (e.
g.
, inventories, housekeeping, and maintenance).
Help conduct monthly employee meetings and weekly management team meetings.
Follow proper opening and closing procedures.
Ensure daily register-to-safe transfers and deposits.
Control variable expenses and auditing whenever necessary.
Create a positive team atmosphere.
Other duties as required.
Skills and QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, the Assistant Manager must be able to perform each required duty satisfactorily.

Education/ExperienceRequired hours of training at beauty or barber school set forth by applicable State Cosmetology Commission and Barber Board, and at least two years of experience.

Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Write routine reports and correspondence.
Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical SkillsAdd and subtract two-digit numbers.
Multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Perform mathematical operations with American money, weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning AbilityApply common sense and carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions.
Deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsThe Assistant Manager must be a licensed cosmetologist or barber within the State of New Jersey.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
